Scientists “Seriously Asking” If Life Was Seeded by Aliens

A recent BBC headline is certainly attention-grabbing: “Scientists are now seriously asking if humans were seeded by aliens. Here’s why.” Now, I don’t even need to read the article to know the ultimate reason why: evolution. If life evolved here, it must have evolved elsewhere, given how large and (supposedly) old our universe is.

“Panspermia” is the idea that life began in outer space, arriving on earth either by random chance (such as on an asteroid) or by design (sent here by intelligent aliens). This idea is supposedly bolstered by an “analysis of [asteroid] samples [which] suggests that some of the building blocks of life are present in the asteroids, raising the prospect that those same building blocks, and perhaps even life itself, could have been delivered to Earth.”

Now, let’s just assume that analysis of the asteroid samples is accurate and there really were “the building blocks of life” on a long-ago asteroid, and it just happened to crash into earth without destroying those amino acids. Does that get evolutionists an origin of life? No, not at all.

Life requires information, and that never arises by itself.

You see, life requires a language system. Life is not just a few amino acids arranged in the right order to make a protein. That gets you absolutely nowhere. Life requires information, and that never arises by itself.

Researchers even admit this, saying that creating life has

got to be harder than just mixing the chemicals together, otherwise life would have formed on [the asteroid] Bennu. . . . Bennu is a pantry full of ingredients, but it wasn’t quite the right conditions to make a cake. On Earth, we have cake and we don’t know why.

The problem of the complexity of life (and the increasingly short time frame given for life to have evolved on our planet) is why evolutionists are now appealing to panspermia. It places the origin of life far away, where we can’t study it, and gives a few extra billions of years for it to have evolved. It’s nothing but wishful thinking and a fairy tale to try to explain away the obvious: Life was created!

Sadly, many evolutionists will accept that life was created . . . but they’ll say it was created by aliens who evolved first (but, of course, that just brings up the question of the origin of their life—but since aliens have never been observed, we can’t even begin to study that!). In the foolishness and sinfulness of the hard human heart, we will believe in anything rather than in the God of the Bible. It’s the reality of our sinful condition!

I think secularists would believe in eternal aliens, but not the eternal God of the Bible! And why? Because that would mean God owns them, God sets the rules (right and wrong), marriage is one man for one woman, there are only two genders of humans, and man is a sinner in need of salvation. That’s why they reject the one true God!

Life did not evolve here or anywhere else, and it certainly wasn’t fortuitously seeded on earth by a lucky asteroid or well-meaning aliens. Life, in all its complexity and diversity, was created by God, and this is so obvious that those who reject this truth stand before God without excuse for their unbelief.

Thanks for stopping by and thanks for praying,
Ken
