Lesson Theme
Whether you’re currently using Answers Bible Curriculum (ABC) or just looking for a seasonal lesson, our Thanksgiving lessons will encourage your students to express gratefulness to God for who he is and all he’s done and how to give thanks in both good and bad times. These topical lessons may be used in any order.
Lesson 1: Giving Thanks to God
Key Passages: James 1:17; Psalm 9:1–2, 33:2–5, 95:1–5, 100:1–5
Focus: All good gifts come from God. He alone is worthy of glory, honor, and praise. We can thank God for who he is and what he’s done when we praise him in worship and prayer.
Lesson 2: Giving Thanks in All Circumstances
Key Passages: 1 Thessalonians 5:18; Luke 17:11–19; 1 Corinthians 15:57; 2 Corinthians 11:24–27, 12:10; Romans 5:3–5; Philippians 4:6–7
Focus: God has commanded us to give thanks in all circumstances, the good and the bad times. The Samaritan leper gave thanks to Jesus when he was healed, and the Apostle Paul rejoiced in his hardships because he knew God was glorified in his weakness. Knowing and trusting in God and his promises can help us be grateful at all times.
