There have been big changes (encouraging changes) made to the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) website. Shortly after President Trump’s inauguration, the CDC’s website went offline “in order to comply with executive orders issued by Trump.” And now if you search abortion, you will be prompted to “try also: adoption.”
As we share in our Fearfully and Wonderfully Made exhibit at the Creation Museum, adoption is a godly alternative to abortion, saving a life and growing a family, rather than destroying a life. After four years of rabidly pro-abortion rhetoric and policy from the previous administration, it’s so encouraging to see changes like these on government websites! We still have a long way to go to ensure abortion ends completely in this nation but praise the Lord for these small victories.
And that’s not the only change to the CDC site:
Terms scrubbed or edited from the CDC’s website include thousands of references to “transgender” individuals, so-called “LGBTQ+ health,” and diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI), as well as HIV testing guidelines for gender-confused people, recommendations for HIV medication, and resources on “LGBTQ+ youth health.”
Again, after four years of an administration that pushed gender confusion and irreversible harm on children and young people, this change is encouraging! But remember, another administration could easily just change them back. And this is a reminder that the ultimate solution to these issues is to see people believe God’s Word and trust Christ for salvation. That’s why our emphasis at Answers in Genesis has always been on proclaiming the truth of God’s Word and the gospel.
This is a reminder that the ultimate solution to these issues is to see people believe God’s Word and trust Christ for salvation.
Please continue to pray for our leaders, that righteousness will be upheld, and that biblical truths—like that life begins at fertilization and we’re created male and female—will continue to replace the lies of the enemy that have killed and harmed so many millions of children, young people, and adults.
