Additional Information

Add-On Experience Workshops

Workshop 1 | Writing for Hearts and Minds

This workshop will explore ways to engage audiences with writing that teaches minds and reaches hearts. Attendees will learn how to craft narratives that serve guests or readers, whether they are reading exhibits at museums and attractions or enjoying content from the comfort of their own homes. This session will also show how to clearly present the truth of God’s Word through writing in creative ways. Dr. Chaffey will share practical advice from his years of experience that will help you avoid many of the common mistakes writers make.

Dr. Tim Chaffey: Manager of Content, Answers in Genesis Attractions Design

Dr. Chaffey has overseen the writing of all our exhibits at the Ark Encounter as well as the new and updated exhibits at the Creation Museum since 2013. He has written or coauthored over two dozen books, in addition to scores of articles for the Answers in Genesis website and Answers magazine. His nonfiction works focus on theology and apologetics. His fictional books, such as The Remnant Trilogy, a historical fiction series about Noah set before the flood, and The Truth Chronicles, a time travel adventure series for tweens, highlight the historical accuracy of Scripture through exciting and immersive narratives.

Workshop 2 | AI-Proof your Art Career by Expanding Your Skillset into the Physical Arts

As AI reshapes the digital art landscape, physical art remains a unique, tactile way to connect with audiences and communities. This studio talk will explore practical ways artists can create meaningful, hands-on works that entertain, educate, and inspire. By blending technical and physical skill with spiritual purpose, participants may discover new ways to use their God-given talents to serve others and glorify the Lord.

Doug Henderson: Supervising Art Director, Answers in Genesis Attractions Design

For more than 35 years, Doug has created special effects makeup, prosthetics, puppets, animatronics, and props for theater, film, and television, as well as sculpting likenesses of historical figures for museum exhibits and displays all around the world. He and his wife, Cathy, were part of the original creative team that brought the Creation Museum to life in 2007. Doug now leads a talented team of artists, mentoring them to hone their craft with excellence and purpose, aiming to glorify God through their work, creating exhibits, props, and architectural elements for the Creation Museum and the Ark Encounter.

Workshop 3 | Resurrecting the Ancient World

Many creatives dream of bringing biblical stories to life, but don’t know where to begin. How do you cut through the hordes of familiar tropes and get to historical honesty? Drawing from years of experience reconstructing ancient worlds through illustration, film, costuming, and exhibits, Travis Wilson, along with his colleagues in historical artistry, Greg Iocco and Levi Sherman, offers a framework for approaching authenticity not as a limitation, but as a tool to elevate both story and craft.

Travis Wilson: Senior Project Designer/Art Director, Answers in Genesis Attractions Design

During his two decades on the Answers in Genesis attractions design team, Travis has contributed his artistry to many exhibits across the Creation Museum and Ark Encounter. Though he began as a sculptor, his work now spans multiple disciplines, including illustration, costuming, and set design. His passion for excellence and historical accuracy is evident in the Borderland exhibit at the Creation Museum, which he shaped and shepherded to completion as project designer, and now culminates in his creative direction of the Jerusalem Model project.

Also featuring:

Greg Iocco and Levi Sherman are the key researchers responsible for the monumental task of guiding the historical accuracy of the Jerusalem Model. Both are artists in their own right—Greg is a skilled illustrator and miniature maker, while Levi brings deep knowledge of historical trades, skill in creating historically accurate costumes, and experience leading the living history programs at the Creation Museum and Ark Encounter.

Workshop 4 | Making Ordinary Extraordinary: Creative Fabrication Techniques to Enhance Your Build

What would it take to transform your boring, old project into something incredible? Maybe not as much as you think! Join the Answers in Genesis Attractions Design Team’s Lead Exhibit Fabricator, Daniel Stibral, as he challenges your thinking and demonstrates unique fabrication techniques that will inspire you to push past the bounds of “ordinary” and make something truly unforgettable! The materials discussed will be wood, foam, plastics, and paints. The techniques covered will be distressing/aging, creative design, odd shapes, and adding whimsy.

Daniel Stibral: Lead Fabricator, Answer in Genesis Attractions Design

Since early childhood, Daniel has had a passion for creating entertainment that glorifies God, reaches the world, and encourages the church. He has been blessed to be able to practice this professionally across multiple industries, including film, themed attractions, and, more recently, board game design. He has over 15 years of professional experience in various roles within the film industry, such as art director, production designer, producer, actor, writer, and more, and has worked on productions ranging from low-budget independent films to million-dollar blockbusters. For the past ten years, Daniel has worked on the fabrication team at Answers in Genesis, building and installing world-class exhibits, props, and sets for the Ark Encounter and Creation Museum.

Workshop 5 | Building Cities: The Digital Pipeline from VFX to Attraction Design

A digital production pipeline powers the creation of VFX-heavy feature films, orchestrating thousands of assets into cohesive shots. Similarly, the Jerusalem Model project leveraged a tailored pipeline to craft many thousands of structures, working to bring an ancient city to life with precision and rich detail. Join Terry as he explains the tricks and techniques necessary to turn individual assets into cohesive, memorable, and spiritually impactful worlds.

Terrence Robertson-Fall: Manager of Digital Sculpting, Answers in Genesis Attractions Design

Terry fused artistry with technology for over 18 years at Sony Pictures Imageworks, leading character rigging teams as a Character Setup Supervisor. A skilled sculptor and programmer, he developed pipeline code and innovative animation/rigging tools, building iconic characters like Spider-Man and Spider-Gwen (Spider-Verse, Homecoming, No Way Home), Captain Crow and Jacob (The Sea Beast), and Tom Cruise’s digital double (Edge of Tomorrow), among others.

Workshop 6 | The Story in the Sign: Exhibit Branding from Concept to Completion

Discover how powerful visual storytelling comes to life in themed environments at the Ark Encounter and Creation Museum. This immersive workshop walks through the full branding process behind an exhibit—from early concept to final signage—using real project case studies, a behind-the-scenes fabrication shop and studio tour, and hands-on design exercises. You’ll gain practical insight into working alongside in-house project designers, writers, architects, and fabricators to build immersive, story-driven spaces—plus inspiration and tools you can bring back to your own design practice.

Eric Dean: Senior Manager of Design Development, Answers in Genesis Attractions Design

With over 25 years of experience in branding, marketing, and environmental design, Eric has spent the last seven years helping bring exhibits to life at the Ark Encounter and Creation Museum—growing from graphic designer to Senior Manager of Design Development. He has the privilege of leading a talented team of writers, researchers, and graphic designers, whose creativity and collaboration shape each immersive experience. He’s passionate about helping designers expand their skills beyond traditional media, clearly communicate meaningful content, and understand the full process of themed environmental design.
