Exactly How Old Is the Earth?

The Bible makes it clear the earth’s only a few thousand years old. But can we know exactly how old it is?

Well, the genealogies in Genesis give about two thousand years from Adam to Abraham, and there were two thousand years from Abraham to Jesus, and another two thousand from Jesus to us. This gives an age of about six thousand.

But some people suggest the earth is ten thousand years old. But to get that number there must be huge gaps in the genealogies which suggests God made mistakes in Scripture.

Instead of trying to fit a few thousand more years into history, we need to start with God’s Word and let it be the standard.
