This is Ken Ham, author of the newly updated book on evolution and the Bible, The Lie: Evolution.
Comets are basically balls of ice and dust that orbit our sun. They get a “tail” when they pass close to the sun, and because of this, the sun’s heat causes much of the ice to evaporate and the dust forms a beautiful tail.
Because of this, every time a comet passes the sun it gets smaller. Eventually, there’s nothing left. Comets are also destroyed if they get too close to large planets. The gravity of the planet can kick them out of orbit. Or they can even slam into the planet.
Because they’re quickly destroyed, comets can’t last long. Yet our solar system is full of them. This confirms a young universe, not billions of years.
Ken Ham is the Founder of Answers in Genesis–US, the highly acclaimed Creation Museum, and the world-renowned Ark Encounter. Ken Ham is one of the most in-demand Christian speakers in North America.
