Is There a Gap in Genesis?

Were rock layers and fossils formed during a millions-of-years-long gap between Genesis 1:1 and 1:2?

Well, we find evidence of animals eating one another in the fossil record. But Genesis tells us that everything was originally created vegetarian.

We also find fossil thorns. But thorns are part of the curse.

If the rock layers and fossils are millions of years old, then animal carnivory and thorns came before sin, not after like the Bible teaches.

The gap in Genesis was added to explain the rock layers and fossils. But the global flood of Noah perfectly explains these things. There’s no gap!
