Over the years we’ve heard the claim that the Bible teaches a flat earth. But that’s simply not true. The prophet Isaiah says God “sits above the circle of the earth” and in the book of Job we read that God “hangs the Earth on nothing.”

Now, sometimes people say poetic passages where the Bible talks about the sun rising or setting show the Bible teaches a flat earth. But this is silly. No one would accuse a meteorologist giving the weather report who mentions the sunrise or sunset of believing the earth is flat!

Observational science confirms that the earth is a sphere. Science always confirms God’s Word.
