Some skeptics say a global flood didn’t happen because the fish could never have survived. After all, many fish can’t survive in just any environment.
Here’s where the biblical concept of kinds is so important. God created things according to their kinds. So we understand that creatures will reproduce according to their kinds, but with great variety. This allows creatures to adapt to specific habitats.
Now before the flood the world was very different. The ocean likely wasn’t as salty or as deep or as cold. Fish have adapted to these new environments since the flood.
So fish absolutely could survive the flood.
