The Israelites in the Bible were often guilty of mixing pagan ideas with the worship of God. And it led to disastrous results as the nation was judged for spiritual adultery.

Sadly, many Christians do a similar thing today. They mix man’s ideas about the past with what God’s Word teaches. They elevate man’s sinful opinions above the teaching of the Bible. And it’s disastrous!

When you mix man’s ideas with God’s Word, it’s God’s Word that usually gets radically changed. And change in one area leads to change in other areas.

Instead of mixing man’s word with God’s Word, let’s start with the absolute authority—God’s Word.
