Yesterday, we learned that unbelievers don’t have an “evidence problem.” They have a heart problem! So, is giving them evidence useless? Absolutely not!
I love to use the account of Lazarus as a metaphor for this. You see, Jesus’ friend Lazarus had died. When Jesus arrived at his tomb, he commanded those nearby to roll away the stone. Now, Jesus could’ve certainly done that. But he asked the people to do what they could do—move the stone. Then Jesus commanded the dead man to come forth.
We can’t save the spiritually dead—only Jesus can. But we can “move the stones” by sharing reasons for the hope we have. Then trust God with the results.
