A common pro-abortion argument is the challenge of bringing up children with severe disabilities. Isn’t abortion the compassionate thing to do?
Think of it this way—is violently killing someone the compassionate thing to do to relieve potential suffering? No!
Or what if we thought of it this way: a parent has a child who’s hurt in an accident and is now disabled. Should they kill the child to end their suffering? Of course not!
A person’s value isn’t determined by level of ability. It’s already been determined by the one who made them fearfully and wonderfully and in his image. And he says they’re of so much worth, he sent his Son to die for them!
