This is Ken Ham, author, speaker, and blogger on the Bible’s reliability and authority.
Popular religious teachers today make claims like “the New Testament only condemns abusive gay relationships, not loving, committed ones.” They’ll argue archaeology shows that homosexual abuses were common in Roman culture at that time so that has to be what the Bible is condemning.
But that’s not what Scripture actually says. These people are interpreting the Bible through limited evidence from archaeology. This relegates God’s Word to a higher authority—archaeology and man’s ideas. Sinful human beings are putting themselves in authority over God’s Word!
Scripture isn’t fuzzy on our sexuality—it’s crystal clear, and we just need to allow it to be our authority.
