Death—an Intruder

Perhaps the question Christians hear the most and even ask themselves is, “Why does God allow suffering”?

Indeed, because of suffering in our world, it can be an intensely personal question. So, how do we answer it?

Well, the Bible begins by giving us the history we need to understand why the world is the way it is. God originally created a perfect world—there was no violence or pain. But this world was ruined by the rebellion of the first man, Adam. His sin brought an intruder into the world: death. And God had to judge sin with death.

You see, we all sinned in Adam, who represented us. In other words—it’s really our fault the world is the way it is!
