We encounter all kinds of ideas every day. Now, how can we discern truth from error? Well, we can use what’s called the “ASK method.”

ASK is an acronym reminding us to “ask” good questions. The “A” stands for “authority.”

When you hear a claim, ask yourself: what is this person’s authority? Are they credible? Have they thoroughly studied this topic? This doesn’t mean you only listen to PhDs—but it does mean you should pay attention to the authority of the source.

And, remember, there’s no higher authority than God’s Word. So even if someone has credibility, if they contradict God’s Word, then they’re wrong.
