When Was Creation?

Can we really know how long ago creation was? Well, the Bible doesn’t give us a specific age for the universe. Instead, God’s Word gives us what’s basically a “birth certificate.”

Here’s what I mean.

The Bible tells us God created everything in six days. And, as we heard yesterday, it’s obvious these were twenty-four-hour days. So, when Adam was created, we have a six-day-old universe, then Genesis gives us detailed chronologies.

So, we can do the math: there were two thousand years from Adam to Abraham. Then there were two thousand years from Abraham to Christ. And two thousand years from then until now.

That means creation was only about six thousand years ago.
