Most people assume the garden of Eden was located in the Middle East, near today’s Tigris and Euphrates rivers. But does the Bible actually tell us that?

The Bible describes Eden as having a river that came from one source—and divided into four rivers. Nothing like that exists today. The global flood of Noah’s day would’ve destroyed any trace of Eden.

So, why do two of the rivers, the Tigris and Euphrates, still exist? Well, Noah and his sons probably named the new rivers after rivers from the old world. People have done this all through history.

We don’t have Eden anymore, but someday we’ll have the new heavens and new earth that God has promised to believers.
