Why does the ministry of Answers in Genesis care so much about the first eleven chapters of Genesis? Well, as we’ve seen this week, it’s because we care about biblical authority. But it’s also because we care about the gospel message!

You see, the gospel is grounded in a literal Genesis. The New Testament teaches that it’s because the first man Adam brought death into the world with his sin that we needed Jesus to die in our place. Think about it, if death isn’t really the penalty for sin—because death has existed for millions of years in the evolutionary view—then why did Jesus even need to die?

Yes, millions of years and evolution undermine the gospel message!
