Should we be giving gifts at Christmas? I know, it’s a bit late to be asking that. But many Christians do wonder, since the word “Christmas” isn’t mentioned in Scripture.
Well, the Bible talks about giving gifts—not reluctantly but with a cheerful spirit. After all, God loves a cheerful giver.
Of course, we can give gifts for the wrong reasons. But when given and received with the right heart, gifts should direct our attention to the One who gave the most wonderful gift of all himself!
Jesus gave his life as a ransom for us. He took our sin debt and he gives those who believe robes of righteousness!
Thanks be to God for his indescribable gift!
