Last year a famous apologist said that Genesis was “mytho-history.” But that’s not what the New Testament writers believed.
Luke traces Jesus’ genealogy all the way back to Adam. He understood Adam as historical and foundational to understanding Jesus as the Savior.
The apostle Paul said God made everyone from one man—that the first man was Adam . . . and he brought death into the world. Paul clearly believed Adam and the fall were historical.
The apostle Peter mentions both creation and the flood as real events, and even says scoffers will deny them!
The New Testament authors believed Genesis was history because . . . well . . . it is!
