Every single major doctrine of Christianity is grounded in the history in Genesis. Why is marriage for a man and woman? Because that’s how God defined it . . . in Genesis. Why is there death and suffering? Because creation was perfect and then cursed because of sin . . . as told in Genesis.
Why did Jesus need to die? Well, death is the penalty for sin . . . starting in Genesis.
Without Genesis, our major Christian doctrines—including the gospel—have no foundation. Sadly, many Christians undermine that history with evolution and millions of years. Really, they’re undermining all our Christian doctrines.
We must start with God’s Word, not man’s ideas.
