This is Ken Ham, CEO and founder of the apologetics ministry of Answers in Genesis.
Scripture makes it clear: death is the penalty for sin. Genesis says Adam would die because of his sin. The book of Romans says that one man’s sin brought death. First Corinthians teaches that the first man, Adam, brought death . . . but Jesus’ death brought life.
You see, because Adam literally rebelled against God, Jesus needed to come and die a physical death to pay for sin.
Now, if we add millions of years and evolution into Genesis, we undermine this message by putting death before sin. But if that’s the case, death isn’t the penalty for sin, so why’d Jesus need to die?
Death is the penalty for sin, and the gospel is true because Genesis is also true.
