Last year, in an interview, popular Christian apologist William Lane Craig called Genesis “mytho-history.” And Craig claimed God created Adam and Eve from some kind of non-human hominid.
Not only does this blatantly contradict the plain meaning of Genesis; it undermines the gospel message! In this view, God used evolution, so there were millions of years of death and suffering before Adam sinned. In this view, death isn’t really the penalty for sin, so why did Jesus even have to come and die?
When we add man’s ideas into Scripture, we put man as the authority—not God. And that’s dangerous. It erodes biblical authority—as well as the gospel!
