Transcript

Some Christians have argued that we shouldn’t celebrate Christmas. Some say it was originally a pagan holiday. Others say since it was never commanded in Scripture . . . we shouldn’t celebrate it.

Well, the argument that Christmas was a pagan holiday doesn’t have great support. And while we aren’t commanded to celebrate Christ’s birth, the shepherds and angels worshipped and celebrated the night he was born—so there’s certainly precedent to do so!

Throughout Scripture, memorials were set up to ensure that God’s people never forgot God’s great deeds. Christmas is a wonderful season to remind us of what we should remember every day—that Christ came into this world to save sinners!
