What do fossils, coal, and diamonds have in common? Well, they’re all assumed to be millions of years old. And they’ve all been tested for a radioactive form of carbon called C fourteen … and it’s been found in all of them.
And why is this significant? Well, C fourteen decays quickly. If an object were over one hundred thousand years old, there’d be no detectable C fourteen left. And yet we find C fourteen in objects thought to be millions or even billions of years old.
Clearly something’s wrong with the assumptions that fossils, coal, and diamonds are ancient! In a biblical worldview, they’re only a few thousand years old.
