Anytime there’s an extreme weather event, such as a major wildfire, hurricane, or tornado, it’s often blamed on man-made climate change. But are we really responsible for the change?

Well, scientists have been looking at these events. They’re using new statistical methods to try to determine cause. And what they’re finding is that they can’t directly link the rise in CO2 levels with these weather events. Experts say that “it’s generally impossible” to say that any specific weather event was caused by human influence.

Climate is complex. There’s so much we still don’t know. That’s probably why most of the doom-and-gloom predictions haven’t come to pass!
