Last year a meteorite crashed into Costa Rica. It’s now found a home in a museum.

And apparently, this meteorite smelled like Brussels sprouts! Well, this odor comes from possible organic compounds, like amino acids. Some scientists say that maybe a meteorite like this one seeded life on earth billions of years ago.

But there’s a lot more to life than amino acids! You see, amino acids build proteins, which are essential for life. But you need information to tell the amino acids which proteins to build—and how to build them. And information never comes from non-life. That’s never been observed.

Life was not seeded by alien rocks. It was created!
