When Jesus was asked about marriage, he responded by quoting verses from Genesis. He said that “from the beginning,” God made us male and female—and brought one man and one woman together in marriage. Now, this reference shows that Jesus defines marriage according to Genesis—and that he believes Adam and Eve were historical people.

And it also means Jesus taught a young earth. He said, “from the beginning.” But in an evolutionary worldview, humans haven’t been around from the beginning. We supposedly arrived billions of years after the beginning.

Genesis teaches that humans were created on day six—we’ve been around “from the beginning,” just like Jesus said.
