A Gospel of Social Justice?

Many Christians are now preaching a gospel of social justice. In this view, our job is fighting poverty and racism, while caring for the environment. Of course, these are good things we should be doing. After all, they’re mandated in Scripture!

But what’s missing from this social justice gospel is … well … the gospel! We can help people, but if we aren’t also sharing the gospel, what’s the ultimate point?

The problem every person has is sin! We’re all sinners in desperate need of a Savior—and people need to know who that Savior is and how to be saved.

So let’s care for the poor and the environment and fight racism … and let’s do it while we preach the gospel.
