Reaching a Secular Culture

This week we’ve looked at why we need to share the gospel—after all, salvation is only found in Christ! But we live in a very secular culture. If you say “God,” people say, “which one?” If you quote the Bible, they say “it’s not true.”

So, how do we reach this culture?

Well, consider two sermons preached in the book of Acts. When Peter preached, he started with Christ. And his Jewish audience, who knew their Old Testament, understood his sermon.

Paul preached a very different sermon. His Greek audience knew nothing of the true God … or the Scripture. So he started with creation, and then moved into the gospel.

That’s how we need to preach the gospel today—starting in Genesis!
