Across America, many “fetal heartbeat” bills have passed recently. These bills ban abortion after a fetal heartbeat is detected, usually around six weeks in the womb.

But a heartbeat really isn’t the issue! The baby is alive—a unique person made in God’s image—long before a heartbeat can be heard.

You see, in the moment the egg from the mother and the sperm from the father come together, you have a unique human being. That particular combination of information has never been seen before … and no new genetic information is ever added. Everything that makes you, you, is present in that very moment.

We need to protect life from the moment of fertilization. And abortion is murder.
