Some people claim that talking about the age of the earth, as we do at Answers in Genesis, is just a waste of time. They’ll say oh, it’s just a “side issue.” But it’s actually vital. Why? Because what you believe about the age of the earth impacts your view of Scripture. In other words, is God’s Word or man’s word your authority?
You see, being a young earth creationist is simply a consequence of accepting biblical authority. Now, a young earth has never been our main issue. We’re all about encouraging the church to start with God’s Word in all areas.
We talk a lot about earth’s age because that’s the focus of today’s attack on the Bible.
