Today there are millions of species. Therefore, many skeptics claim there’s no way they’d all fit on the ark.

Well, they’re right—but Noah didn’t have to cram millions of species onto the ark.

You see, God told Noah to take two of every kind of land-dwelling, air-breathing animal. Now research has shown that “kind” is roughly equivalent to “family” in our modern classification system. So Noah didn’t need two tigers, two lions, and two leopards. He only needed two representatives of the cat kind. And, remember, he only needed the land animal kinds.

So how many animals did Noah need? Probably less than seven thousand! There was plenty of room on the ark.
