In 2016, we opened our full-size Noah’s Ark attraction in Northern Kentucky. The ark is a massive wooden ship.
I sometimes get asked why we didn’t build the ark in the shape of a box.
Well, the Bible doesn’t give us very many details about what the ark actually looked like. We just know the dimensions and a few other small features. And these dimensions don’t imply it was box shaped. After all, we can use dimensions to describe a car but that doesn’t mean it’s box-shaped.
We designed our ark as a ship because that shape provides great comfort and stability for the ark’s passengers.
But, since the Bible doesn’t tell us, we can’t be dogmatic about the ark’s shape.
