The Apostle Peter warns of scoffers in the future who’ll deny the coming judgment by fire. They’ll say everything continues as it always has—and will mock the idea of a judgment. Peter replies by saying that, while it seems like a long time has passed to us, God is outside time. God doesn’t see time the way we do.

Peter writes that just as surely as there was a global judgment at Noah’s time, so another judgment is coming. But Jesus is delaying his judgment—he doesn’t want any to perish.

The rock layers and billions of fossils point to the historicity of the Flood.

Just as there was a Flood in the past, so is there a coming judgment. But we can be saved through faith in Jesus.
