Yesterday we learned that it is not science vs. religion; it is really religion vs. religion. It is one view of the past, based on man’s word, vs. God’s account of the past, based on God’s Word. You see, there are actually two different kinds of science.

“Observational science” deals with the present. It is directly testable, observable, and repeatable. It builds computers, puts the rover on Mars, and cures diseases.

“Historical science” deals with the past. It is not directly testable, observable, or repeatable. So what you believe about the past determines how you interpret today’s evidence.

We all study the same world. The conflict is between two different interpretations of the same evidence.
