Last summer, we opened our the full-size Noah’s Ark attraction south of Cincinnati. It depicts the Ark as a massive wooden ship.

Some people wonder why we didn’t build the Ark in a box shape.

Well, the Bible doesn’t give us very many details about the Ark. It presents the dimensions and a few other features. Now, these don’t imply it was box shaped. After all, we can use dimensions of height, width, and length to describe a car, but that doesn’t mean it’s box-shaped.

We designed our Ark as a ship because that shape provides the maximum comfort and stability. Noah, who lived hundreds of years, may have become an expert ship builder.

We can’t be dogmatic about the Ark’s shape. We took our best educated guess with our Ark.
