Millions of Years in Genesis?

Some Christians believe there is a gap of millions of years between Genesis 1:1 and 1:2. They believe that this is when the rock layers and fossils were formed.

Well, we find evidence of animals eating one another in the fossil record. But Genesis tells us that everything was originally created to be vegetarian.

We also find fossil thorns. But thorns are part of the Curse, in Genesis 3.

If the rock layers and fossils are millions of years old, then animal carnivory and thorns came before sin. But they are sad consequences of Adam’s sin.

The gap in Genesis was added to try to explain the rock layers and fossils. But the global Flood of Noah’s day perfectly explains these things.

There is no gap.
