Many people think that what you believe about Genesis is just a side issue . . . that it doesn’t really matter. But all of our major Christian doctrines are grounded in Genesis.

For example, why is marriage for one man and one woman for life? Well, because this is how God designed it. Marriage isn’t a social or government institution that we can change as society changes. It was designed by God from the beginning.

Sadly, many Christians no longer believe marriage is just one man and one woman. And many of these same Christians don’t believe Genesis is literal history, so this is no surprise. Genesis and marriage go hand-in-hand.
