There are some Christians who claim nature is an extra book of the Bible. But God’s Word reveals why this is a very faulty understanding. Isaiah says, “The grass withers, and the flower fades, but the Word of our God stands forever.”

Nature will eventually pass away, but God’s Word will endure forever. It alone is permanent and foundational for knowing truth.

If we rely on nature or reinterpret God’s Word according to our interpretations of nature, we are really just building on sinking sand. We need to be like the wise builder who chose to build his house on the rock. God’s Word provides an unchanging foundation for our thinking.

Yes, we need to interpret nature through God’s Word.
