Sometimes you will hear skeptics claim Jesus never even lived. But there is evidence from both the Bible and secular history that Jesus was a historical person.

The Jewish historian Josephus recorded that James was “the brother of Jesus who was called the Christ.”

Another historian, the Roman Tacitus [ˈta-sə-təs], wrote about the burning of Rome. He said rumors began spreading that the Emperor Nero did it, so he blamed the Christians. Taticus explained that the name came from Christ, who was executed by Pontius Pilate.

These are just two of the many non-Christian, early sources that mention Jesus as a person who really lived. To say Christians made Him up is to ignore history.
