Talking About AI: Free Resources for Teaching a Biblical View of Technology

It’s no secret that artificial intelligence (AI) is revolutionizing society, impacting major fields, including education,1 health care,2 scientific research,3 agriculture,4 creative industries,5 and militaries.6 This technology can already outperform humans at various tasks.7 And according to an article published by the World Economic Forum, AI may transform the economy as we know it.8 Where do Christians even start with thinking through these developments?

As Christians, God’s Word is the starting point for our thinking about everything. Since AI is a new technology, we don’t find the term “artificial intelligence” in the Bible. But the great news is, God’s Word offers practical, timeless truths for approaching any new technology, including AI.

How can Christians distill these truths from Genesis and apply them to AI? That’s what my new presentation is about, available as a free video on Answers in Genesis’ YouTube Channel:

In response, I put together a free six-page study guide to go with the video. The study guide includes questions for discussion, reflection, and application, along with fill-in-the blank activities and other features for taking home key information from the talk. Pastors, parents, teachers, and others are welcome to print and share these materials for educational and discipleship purposes. This way, churches, families, and classrooms can go through the video and study guide together.9
