Tribute to Dr. Jon Jones, Dear Friend and AiG Supporter

Jon and his wife, Sue, sort of adopted this lonely family from Australia, as we had moved away from family and friends to work in the US with Dr. Henry Morris and Dr. Duane Gish of the Institute for Creation Research in Santee (near San Diego). And they supported Answers in Genesis from its inception.

Jon and Sue (and their family) became lifelong friends, and we have done so many wonderful things together. Jon taught me how to row, and we spent many hours rowing around San Diego Harbor. One year, they came to Australia with us, which gave us such precious memories.

When I was in the Los Angeles area two weeks ago, the Lord burdened me to make sure I visited with Jon and his family. So we squeezed in a trip to San Diego. I had a wonderful couple of hours with Jon and Sue and their family. Jon’s health was not good, as he had been fighting health issues for 13 years.

In my heart, I believed that would be the last time I would see him on earth—and it was—but I know we will all see him one day in heaven.

Our condolences and love to Sue, Matt, Audrey, Austin, Daniel, and their families.
