I Asked an Astronaut Some Controversial Questions

Wow! Our recent Astronaut Encounter (with three Christian astronauts) was phenomenal. The energy in the Ark Encounter’s Answers Center, as 1,500 guests gathered to hear from moonwalker General Charlie Duke and ISS astronauts Colonel Jeff Williams and Captain Barry Wilmore, was very high. Each of our guest speakers received a spontaneous standing ovation.

Hearing these gifted, godly men give all the glory to God and share their testimonies (including Barry’s testimony of being stranded on the ISS for nine months and finding contentment in Christ), was very moving. And people loved when General Duke commented, “I walked on the moon over a period of three days, but my walk with Jesus is forever.”

Here’s one clip featuring a behind-the-scenes interview I did with Barry Wilmore where I asked him controversial questions such as “Is the earth flat?” and “Do aliens exist?”

Yes, these inspiring individuals all gave God the glory as they shared their experiences with his handiwork from a breathtaking vantage point that is truly out of this world! With all the videos and photos from space, the packed audience went around the earth many times—and, oh, the earth is not flat! And the moon landings were real!

At the special dinner to end the evening, I had the privilege of interviewing the wives of each of the astronauts. That was a unique experience for everyone.

We received wonderful feedback from the day as people commented it was such a unique experience. It was an incredible event to be part of (in addition to interviews at the dinner, I had the privilege of opening the event with a talk on the purpose and meaning of the universe)—and you can still experience it on our streaming platform, Answers TV!
