Happy Mother’s Day!

We’re so grateful for mothers and the hard work they do in raising up the next generation. Over the years, I’ve shared many times about the impact my mother and grandmother (Nanna) had on me.

I’ll never forget my mother teaching me that it’s “only what’s done for Jesus that lasts” (and she didn’t just say that—she and my father lived it!) or my grandmother (Nanna) boldly preaching to Jehovah’s Witnesses as they ran away. Today I thought I’d highlight another way my mother impacted not only me, but this entire ministry for decades: she prayed.

My mother was a prayer warrior. She was always praying. Even in her later years, she prayed for us, for the ministry, and for the attractions. Every time I talked to her, she told me she prayed every day for me and for our family. She also said when she couldn’t sleep during the night (and the older she got, the more difficulty she had with sleep), she would pray for all her family (kids, grandkids, great grandkids, etc.) and friends.

She was always praying. Even in her later years, she prayed for us, for the ministry, and for the attractions.

Her actions reminded me of 1 Thessalonians 5:17, where the Apostle Paul told us to “pray without ceasing.”

My mother is now home with the Lord, but I am so grateful for the lessons she taught me and for her ceaseless prayers. We know the Lord hears us and answers prayer (we’ve seen him answer so many prayers over the years!), and I’m so thankful for the hours she spent on her knees asking the Lord to meet our needs and bless and grow this ministry. I so miss my mother praying for me! But I know her many prayers were heard by the Lord.

We’re celebrating 50 years of ministry this year, and it’s all a testimony to God’s faithfulness, his answers to prayer, and the thousands of people—including my godly mother—who have prayed for us for decades.

If you’re a mother, I pray that you will be the kind of mother who prays daily for her children and her grandchildren, giving them a godly example to follow.

Thanks for stopping by and thanks for praying,
Ken
