Mally and I were saddened recently to hear of the loss of our friend David McQueen. A former US Geological Survey geologist and geology professor at the University of Virginia at Petersburg, he was a creationist geologist and was on staff with the Institute for Creation Research (ICR) when I was there in the ’80s.

David and Shirley, his wife of 53 years whom he met in AiG’s home state of Kentucky (he was thrilled when we located the ministry here 31 years ago), were a delightful couple who were passionate about Genesis. After their time at ICR, they still shared the truth of God’s Word, including posting several homemade apologetics videos (often using corny humor) to Facebook for friends and family. David would sometimes call me out of the blue just to chat and ask advice about projects he was working on.

As a geologist, David had a keen interest in how the aftereffects of Noah’s flood shaped the surface of our planet.

As a geologist, David had a keen interest in how the aftereffects of Noah’s flood shaped the surface of our planet, and he wrote articles on flood geology for ICR. His other research hobbies included studying WWII (his father served in Europe and was severely injured in Germany) and all things Scottish.

Please pray for Shirley and the whole family, including his four children and several grandchildren, as they mourn this loss.

Precious in the sight of the LORD is the death of his saints. (Psalm 116:15)

Thanks for stopping by and thanks for praying,
Ken
