It’s a winter wonderland at the Ark Encounter and Creation Museum! A storm swept through our area this past Sunday and Monday, dumping nearly a foot of snow in some places. (And actually, it hit at the right time! From January through the first week of March, our attractions close Sunday through Tuesday each week.) Enjoy these beautiful photos.

Because of the temperatures, the snow will remain this week, so it will be a unique time to visit our attractions. The snow is so beautiful.

We also have the stage production of The Pilgrim’s Progress at the Ark Encounter’s Answers Center on select dates through January 18. Don’t miss this stunning stage production. My family and I just loved it.

It’s a phenomenal opportunity for you to bring family and friends and unsaved people. They will hear the gospel clearly presented through Christian’s journey. The Pilgrim’s Progress is the greatest Christian allegory ever written.

Our Animals Love the Snow

I want to give a big thank you to our hardworking and dedicated grounds team who worked before, during, and after the storm to clear snow and remained onsite to deal with any issues that arose during the storm. They worked so hard, even through the cold night hours, and we are grateful for their hard work.

Also a big thank you to our Department of Public Safety. They had officers and dispatchers on-site at both attractions throughout the storm, continuing to provide 24-hour security and assistance when needed.

I also want to thank our zookeepers at the Ararat Ridge Zoo (at the Ark Encounter) and Creation Zoo (at the Creation Museum) who spent both Sunday night and Monday night with the animals at their zoos during the storm. Because this storm was labeled a level two snow emergency in our region, several keepers volunteered to hunker down at the zoos for the duration of the snowstorm to save other staff from having to drive in dangerous conditions to care for the animals. They arrived at the zoo at about 4:00 p.m. on Sunday and didn’t leave until conditions were safe to drive today.

I thought you’d enjoy these photos of the animals enjoying the snow, along with the keepers who worked so hard to care for them during the storm.
