Each year in America, we take time to reflect on the goodness of God and his blessings to us at Thanksgiving. And I thought I’d share with you just a few of the things we at Answers in Genesis are thankful for this year:
- 2,476 salvation testimonies during our 40 Days and 40 Nights of Christian Music Festival. We are praising the Lord that nearly 2,500 people committed their lives to Christ after hearing the gospel message during our summer concert series. On certain days during this festival, we also had record attendance of over 12,000 people at our attractions!
- Answers Academy moved into their beautiful new building. At the very beginning of the year, our K–12 Christian school relocated into one-third of our new headquarters building and grew 30% in number with growth expected to increase each year. Renovations continue on the other two-thirds of the building, which will house our staff offices next year, allowing us to begin renovating our current offices at the Creation Museum into desperately needed dining space and new exhibits.
- Our Plants of the Bible Conservatory (the only one of its kind in the world) opens tomorrow, just in time for ChristmasTown at the Creation Museum. This will be an attraction in and of itself and will only get better as the plants mature. Guests will learn more about the various plants mentioned throughout Scripture and hear the gospel message as they reflect at a plant that may’ve been used to make Christ’s crown of thorns. We can’t wait for guests to begin enjoying it tomorrow!
- The opening of phase 1 of our Creation Zoo. Our animals, including barnyard favorites, wallabies, Aldabra tortoises, a king vulture, a giant anteater, and more, are settled into their new homes; and the next phase of the zoo, including the recently constructed Wonders of Creation Stage, is coming along.
- Record attendance for our Answers for Women conference. Our annual conference sold out so quickly that we added a second conference and have done the same for this coming year (and both events are quickly filling up!). We also had a large audience online join us via live stream. Thousands of women were impacted with biblical truth.
- Our end-of-year fundraiser has already raised over $6 million for three exciting projects. We’re so grateful for another generous matching-gift offer (every gift is matched up to $8 million through the end of the year) and for the generosity of our supporters in stepping forward to take advantage of the match.
- Our social media footprint has been rapidly growing, thanks to our dedicated social media team. They’re reaching millions of people—many of whom have never engaged with our content before! Back in February, my YouTube channel hit 100,000 subscribers and we received YouTube’s Silver Creator Award.
- Thousands of guests impacted daily with the message of the truth of God’s Word and the gospel at our attractions. The spiritual impact of this is immeasurable.
Yes, God has been faithful to sustain and grow this ministry for another year, and we’re very grateful. I’ll leave you with this psalm of thanksgiving.
Make a joyful noise to the Lord, all the earth!
Serve the Lord with gladness!
Come into his presence with singing!
Know that the Lord, he is God!
It is he who made us, and we are his;
we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture.
Enter his gates with thanksgiving,
and his courts with praise!
Give thanks to him; bless his name!
For the Lord is good;
his steadfast love endures forever,
and his faithfulness to all generations. (Psalm 100)
Thanks for stopping by and thanks for praying,
Ken
