Wondering “What Is a Woman?” Hurts Women

This month has been dubbed Women’s History Month here in America. There’s already been an International Women’s Day, and many issues (or supposed issues) impacting women are being highlighted by the media and activist groups all month. But, because of the impact of transgender ideology, there’s one issue greatly impacting women that won’t be discussed by the mainstream media—and that’s the “What is a woman?” question. Actually, the answer is easy—biologically, genetically, and biblically.

This confusion has consequences.

But because of the belief (yes, it’s a belief—a religion) that gender is on a spectrum and there’s really no such thing as a binary of male and female, many people today struggle to define what a woman is and what a man is (something even a child can do!). And this confusion has consequences.

Males are now being placed in women’s private spaces, including locker rooms, shelters, and prisons. And, of course, males are now dominating many women’s sports, taking away awards, titles, and scholarships that women and girls have worked very hard for. These things have devastating consequences for women. Consider that in some California prisons, female prisoners are offered contraceptives and abortion pills because of the men identifying as women being housed in the prisons with them! And that’s just one example out of many of how women are the victims of transgender ideology.

And yet the pain, suffering, and indignity inflicted on women and girls as they are now expected to tolerate and celebrate men entering their private spaces is rarely discussed by the mainstream media or activists (even supposed “feminists”) because they are sold out to the confusion of transgender ideology. But why?

Well, because this is a spiritual battle! And the one ultimately behind this destructive and chaotic ideology is the father of lies and confusion—our enemy Satan. You see, our God “is not a God of confusion but of peace” (1 Corinthians 14:33). But Satan deceives the nations, appearing as an angel of light when in reality, he’s the prince of darkness, roaming the earth and looking to see whom he can kill and devour.

But ultimately, we don’t fight with the weapons of this world. Since this is a spiritual battle, we need spiritual resources.

So how do we fight against the destruction that is trans ideology? Well, we can vote, lobby politicians, petition school boards, and educate our families and neighbors. But ultimately, we don’t fight with the weapons of this world. Since this is a spiritual battle, we need spiritual resources—namely prayer, God’s Word, and the armor of God. Ephesians 6 is directly applicable to this battle:

Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his might. Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places. Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand firm. Stand therefore, having fastened on the belt of truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and, as shoes for your feet, having put on the readiness given by the gospel of peace. In all circumstances take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming darts of the evil one; and take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God, praying at all times in the Spirit, with all prayer and supplication. (Ephesians 6:10–18)

As Christians, we need to stand against the evil that is transgender ideology and help those around us understand God’s “very good” design of male and female and an identity grounded in Christ and what he’s done for us on the cross.

To learn more about God’s design and how we can communicate this truth to others, I strongly encourage you to order our Executive CEO Martyn Iles’ new book, Who Am I? It’s a powerful resource that applies God’s Word, beginning in Genesis, to a massive issue of our day.

Thanks for stopping by and thanks for praying,
Ken
