Looking Back at 2023: Most Popular Shows on Answers TV (And What’s Coming Soon)

Our most popular show for 2023 was . . .

Kashtan’s Wildlife in the Zoo. This reality show is a behind-the-scenes adventure at Creation Kingdom Zoo in Virginia. Kids love the fun animals and the peek at what life is really like at a zoo.

Our second most popular show was . . .

Behind the Experience. This show takes you behind the scenes to see what it takes to bring you the Creation Museum and Ark Encounter attractions. It really is amazing what all goes on here that most people have no idea about! The most popular episodes in this series were Episode 1: “The Lobby Aquarium” (featuring the beautiful upgrade to the aquarium in the museum’s lobby) and Episode 3: “Camels and Sloths” (featuring our incredible “singing” camels).

And our third most popular show was . . .

Lily’s Lab. This show hasn’t been out for long, but kids love it so much that it has become the third most-viewed show on the platform! Lily the Leaellynasaura is a truth-loving dinosaur who is always asking questions—and those questions may just be the same types of questions your kids are asking. And she always finds answers from God’s Word (sometimes with the help of experts!).

What’s really exciting is that both Kashtan’s Wildlife in the Zoo and Lily’s Lab, along with Tilt Shift (a movie review show), have been nominated for the prestigious ICVM Awards for best children’s program (Lily’s Lab), best series (Kashtan’s Wildlife in the Zoo), and best talk show (Tilt Shift). Winners will be announced in February.

What’s Coming Next?

This past year was an exciting year for Answers TV, but our AV and Answers TV teams are equally excited about what’s coming in 2024. Throughout the year, beginning late February, you’ll enjoy

• Season 5 of Unlocking Science. This hands-on science show features Mr. P (Roger Patterson), with occasional cohosts, teaching on a new set along with exciting on-location shoots and other new content. Some of the topics covered in this upcoming season include
  • Buoyancy and experiments with balloons and canoes.
  • Erosion and flood geology/Grand Canyon and a fun experiment with cake.
  • Fossils and a fossil-hunting segment with an experiment to fossilize Claude (if you don’t know who Claude is, you’ll have to watch the show!).
  • The anatomy of the eye and experiments with optical illusions.
  • Rockets, the physics of how they launch, and experiments with model rockets.
  • And many more!
  
• Season 3 of Hike & Seek. This new season of our popular creationist nature program featuring filmmaker Peter Schriemer was filmed on location at National Parks around the United States. You and your kids will love the fascinating wildlife Peter and the AV team filmed.
  
• Season 2 of Kashtan’s Wildlife in the Zoo. Our favorite junior zookeeper takes viewers on more adventures with more zoo craziness and wildlife education at the Creation Kingdom Zoo.
• Season 3 of Tilt Shift. Hosts Tim Chaffey and Bryan Osborne continue to examine the ideas and philosophies in popular movies, including Barbie, Guardians of the Galaxy 3, Indiana Jones IV, Dungeons and Dragons, and more, from a biblical perspective.
  
• Season 4 of Building Blocks. This fun show features dynamic AiG speakers Bryan Osborne and Avery Foley teaching through the whole Bible chronologically for younger kids. Fun object lessons make the teaching stick as kids learn about theology, doctrine, apologetics, the gospel from Genesis, and more. Season 4 finishes up the Bible, teaching from Jesus’ second year of ministry through Revelation.
• A Schus Off! special. This fun show is designed for younger kids, and its upcoming special follows the Schu family as they explore the eastern coast of Canada, learning about rock layers, fossils, radiometric dating, and the flood with some very special (and unexpected) guests—talking rocks!
• A brand-new cooking show! I can’t tell you much about this one yet as it’s currently in production, but be looking for more details in my blog or on our social media as we get closer to release date later this year.
